I had visions of us sitting down at the computer, having a mother daughter moment choosing housing.. uh no. Elise's schedule can be nuts. She did a great job, got it all done, felt prompted to choose a certain dorm, signed up and was home a few minutes before the first recital started. The recitals were darling and her students performed wonderfully. It was fun to visit with their families too! I took care of the desserts in between texting with Elise about housing, doing primary stuff and handling Jacob who had just broken the neighbor's window... and running to the store for papergoods at the last minute because I hadn't even thought we might need cups and plates! Ahhh...don't we love days like this? It ended up being a very fun evening though! We were really proud of her!

My mind is spinning from all that, how does she keep it all straight! Can't wait to see you guys next month!
ReplyDeleteI am laughing with you. Remember,...With You. You are a fantastic mom and she seems to be following in your footsteps.
ReplyDeleteJenna-me too!! I was hoping we were not going to miss you, but we'll be back in town right before you come! Yah!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to have accomplished so much this year. She is training for "bigger" things ahead. I am just amazed at what these kids get done with so little time. Thankfully they are young and don't need sleep. In the past many years I have been working with the youth I truly believe this generation is INCREDIBLE! (and that's not just because we have young adult teenagers!) They do so much with such willingness and aren't afraid of hard things. Congrats to Elise on finishing out a wonderful hectic memory filled year. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see what's ahead. :D
ReplyDeleteYou are so right... you know this first hand with your own kids!!
